AT KAVE HOME, WE FOCUS ON EVERY PHASE OF OUR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE IMPACT THAT OUR DECISIONS HAVE ON PEOPLE AND THE WORLD WE SHARE.
From careful selection of materials to strategic alliances with dedicated partners, as well as certification through specialized institutes. Every step reflects our steadfast commitment; we set ourselves the goal of meeting the highest standards and adopting responsible and innovative practices.
We measure our impact
In accordance with our UNE-EN ISO 14064-1:2019 certification, we have calculated our carbon footprint in order to understand and reduce our impact on the environment. This analysis provided us with a deep understanding of our operations, paving the way for more sustainable and responsible strategies.
We follow a climate change action plan to reduce and neutralize our carbon footprint, which has been verified by ClimatePartner.
The Climate Change Action Plan enabled us to identify the sources of our emissions at three corporate scales, implement effective strategies to reduce these emissions and offset those we could not reduce through mitigation processes. This process has enabled us to achieve climate neutrality in scope 1 and 2 emissions during the 2022 operating year, and we are committed to iterating and improving these practices each year to meet our commitment to sustainability. FSC® chain of responsibility certificate
Through our FSC® certification, Kave Home is part of a certified supply chain for forest products. It was awarded to us for the first time in 2021 by the international non-governmental organization Forest Stewardship Council. This recognition confirms our overall commitment to traceability and sustainability in the supply chain, ensuring that our wood comes from controlled logging, supporting biodiversity conservation and promoting responsible forest management.
Global agreement of the United Nations (UN Global Compact)
We are proud to be part of the United Nations Global Compact. We are committed to ethical business, respect for human rights, care for the environment and the fight against corruption. Discover our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Global Compact here .
The second life of our products
At Kave Home, we take a circular approach that focuses on the reuse of products used in exhibitions, photoshoots and events, as well as returned items. More than 100,000 products have already been given a second life by selling through our Coffee Centers.
A company with net zero emissions
We are committed to becoming a net zero emission company by 2050. During the 2022 operating year, we have already achieved climate neutrality in scope 1 and 2 emissions, and we are committed to repeating and improving those practices each year to meet our commitment to sustainability. Packaging made from recycled materials
We plan to use 95% recycled materials in our packaging by 2025.
100% certified wood
By 2030, our goal is to ensure that 100% of the wood used in our furniture is certified and comes from responsibly managed forests.
JUST AS STYLE AND QUALITY ARE FUNDAMENTAL, WE WANT SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS TO BE A FUNDAMENTAL ASPECT OF OUR BRAND AND PRODUCTS. WE ALWAYS WORK WITH A FOCUS ON CREATING RESPONSIBLY DESIGNED PIECES.

The life cycle of our products
Our Circularity Department focuses on the durability and circularity of materials, ensuring that our products have a long lifespan through responsible practices and resource recovery.
Eco-design
Guided by eco-design strategies, our product designers follow principles that deal with environmental issues, such as the choice of sustainable materials, product life cycle and minimizing our environmental impact. This promotes a more conscious and environmentally friendly design. We stay true to our principles:
- Processes for the design and production of high-quality products, which are structurally sound to withstand the weight and stresses expected of them.
- Preference for renewable, recycled and biodegradable materials that are also easy to maintain, in order to extend the life of the product.
- Application of modular design: the possibility of separating components and easy disassembly.
- Use of uniform, homogeneous materials and limited use of composite materials.
- Minimalist designs with clean, simple lines allow us to reduce the amount of materials used, which in turn helps reduce the weight of our products.
Natural, recycled and recyclable materials
Our philosophy defends the importance of materials in every piece we create. We deeply value the choice of natural, recycled and recyclable materials, which form a fundamental part of our identity and our commitment to design that respects the environment and lasts over time.
Wood: The natural warmth and versatility of wood add unique charm and character to our designs.
Stone: The solid nature and timelessness of stone provide lasting elegance, bringing stability and a distinctive touch to our products.
Metal: The strength and flexibility of metal brings sophistication and modernity to our pieces, while allowing us to create bold and durable designs.
Fabric: We work with materials like 100% recycled polyester to combine responsibility, comfort, softness and warmth.
Natural fibers: The lightness and connection with nature of our fibers give them a sense of freshness and relaxed style, contributing to the creation of a comfortable atmosphere.
Glass: The transparency and shine of glass give our designs delicacy, enriching them with a modern and clean aesthetic.
Certificates that support us
We have certificates that support our commitment to environmental protection, and we assess our environmental impact through external audits. This guarantees the transparency of our procedures and ensures that they meet established environmental standards.
BREEAM rating: Excellent
Our newly opened logistics platform received BREEAM certification with a rating of Excellent. This reflects our commitment to adopting environmentally friendly practices in every aspect of logistics operations, from design to resource management, thereby helping to reduce our impact on the environment.
FSC® Chain-of-Custody
Having the FSC chain of responsibility certificate means that we have established a rigorous and verifiable system of monitoring and controlling the origin of the wood used in our products. This certificate guarantees that every stage of production meets the standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), ensuring that the wood comes from responsibly and sustainably managed forests.
Oeko-Tex
We require OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 or OEKO-TEX STeP certification from all our fabric and textile suppliers, in order to ensure that the products do not contain substances harmful to health, thereby guaranteeing the quality of our textiles through all stages of production.
Calculating our carbon footprint
Understanding our current situation is key to knowing the direction we want to go. Calculating our carbon footprint according to rigorous and transparent standards allows us to immediately reduce our carbon emissions by making the right decisions in key areas. (The calculation was carried out with the participation and support of Inèdit Innovacio SL, and was audited by DNV - Supply Chain and Product Assurance.)
